Learning Collective FAQ

What is it? A group of local businesses, pooling their respective resources to access quality learning content for their employees, at a reduced cost.

Who can be part of the collective? Any business that pays the membership fee will be given access to the learning programs.

How local is “local”? Depending on the number of members, local could be as local as “Elmira”, or as local as “Region of Waterloo”.  The more members we have from various areas around the region, the more “Collectives” we can support.

How much does a membership cost? The cost for a membership is $1500/12 months.

What does the membership include? Membership includes;

·         4 Learning Access Passes per membership

·         Additional Learning Access Passes - $250/person/learning event

·         Access to exclusive resources and content

·         A vote on learning topics and prioritization of topics

What if my business is not a member, how much does a learning event cost? Non-members may access learning events if;

a)       There is space available in the session (max 25 per session)

b)      They pay $600/person/learning event

What are the topics that will be covered? Potential topics that could be covered:

·         Accountability

·         Giving & receiving feedback

·         Communication

·         Psychological safety

·         Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

·         Executive presence

·         Change management

·         Negotiation

·         Customer service

·         Conflict resolution

·         Influencing without authority

·         Social Media

·         Personal Branding

·         Other topics that might be of interest to the collective

What if I want a specific topic covered for my business? Any topics that are customized for a specific business would be available upon consultation with Tairo Consulting and are not included in the cost of the Learning Collective membership.

Will the sessions be in-person or online? All efforts will be made to host the sessions in-person.  In the event that an appropriate space is not available, or in-person is not feasible for some reason, the learning events will be held live, online, via Zoom.

Will the sessions be recorded? For the most part, the sessions will not be recorded.  Any recording will be done with the full permission of all attendees.

How often will the learning events be held? The plan is to offer these learning events monthly.  If more sessions are requested, or we have more attendees than we have space for, additional sessions will be offered.

Are there opportunities to sponsor the Learning Collective?  Yes, please contact Tairo Consulting for more information.

How will topics be chosen and prioritized? Once memberships are purchased, an online poll will be shared to all members.  Members will be able to vote on topics and rank them in order of priority.  Majority rules will be used to decide on topics and priority.  As new members join throughout the year, priorities may shift, given the desires of the members.  Session topics will be determined at least one month in advance.

How long will each of the learning sessions be?  The length of each session will be dependent on the topic.  We expect session to range from 1 hour to max 3 hours.

Why should I join? There are many reasons to join a Learning Collective.

1.       Your employees are more likely to resign without opportunities for learning and development (Zavvy)

2.       Increased profitability

3.       Better company culture
